How to Order in Canada

Canadian orders may be placed either online: www.treadlightly.ca or by e-mail: orders@treadlightly.ca

Pricing

Prices are subject to change without notice, until the order is confirmed. When ordering by e-mail, we will provide notification for any price variations prior to processing orders.

Cancellations

Orders or items cancelled which have been processed will be charged a 5% restocking fee, and the remaining balance will be refunded. Please do not hesitate to contact us (orders@treadlightly.ca) if you have any questions or special requests. Once an order is shipped, the order may no longer be cancelled; however, it may be returned under the guidelines specified in the returns section below.

Payment Methods

  • PayPal/credit card payment (no sign up required, pay by Visa, MasterCard or through a PayPal account)
  • Canadian Personal Cheques (allow one week for cheques to clear) before items are shipped. In the case of NSF cheques, the order will be cancelled and $30 CAD will be charged as well as a 10% restocking fee.
  • Certified Cheque, Money Orders (Payments are made out to Tread Lightly)

Processing and Shipping

All orders must be paid for before they are shipped.

Tread Lightly will process and ship orders within 1-2 business days. If, for some reason beyond our control, order processing is delayed, the customer will be notified promptly and any resulting issues will be considered and discussed on an individual basis.

Those paying with personal cheques will have orders shipped once cheques have cleared your bank. Those paying with certified cheques or money orders will have orders shipped as soon as the payment is received.

Out of stock items will be omitted from the final bill and customers will be notified promptly.

Our standard shipping method is Canada Post, Expedited Parcel. Expedited Parcel shipping means that, once shipped, your order will arrive in 1-7 business days. Expedited parcel is the most economical method. Those who prefer another method of shipping at additional cost can indicate so on the order form or by e-mailing orders@treadlightly.ca.

Local Orders

Local pick-ups are not accepted due to technicalities with our insurance coverage. To remedy this, we deliver orders to local residents just outside of the Municipality of Guelph for $5 per order.

Also, we are willing to deliver to a location within the Guelph city limits free of charge. Visit our Guelph section to see if your Guelph address qualifies.

Please either fill-out the appropriate box on the order form or e-mail: orders@treadlightly.ca if you would like us to deliver your order.

The following conditions apply to local delivery:

  1. A valid address must be provided on the order form or by e-mailing orders@treadlightly.ca. The shipping address must not be a post office box.
  2. A contact name, e-mail address and phone number must be provided.
  3. A staff member will contact you to arrange for an optimal delivery time and very clear, accurate delivery information.
  4. If no person is present to accept the delivery, the package will be left at the specified delivery location, at the time and date agreed upon, and Tread Lightly assumes no further responsibility for theft or damage to the order. No refunds will be provided unless the package is accepted by a person and then, only under the terms outlined in the returns section below.

Return Policy

  1. If products arrive damaged, please notify us (orders@treadlightly.ca) within 48hrs, and the chosen carrier will be notified. Shipping charges are refunded only for items damaged upon delivery. Damaged items qualify for 100% refund or exchange.
  2. Products may be returned within 30 days of purchase if unopened for an exchange or full refund. Shipping costs for returning unwanted, unopened & undamaged items are the purchasers responsibility.
  3. The return address is noted on the back of the packing slip. Please include your packing slip and fill out the returns form on the back to explain why you are returning the item and if you want a refund or replacement. Please insure all packages being returned against loss or damage.

US and International Orders

Tread Lightly is currently only processing orders for Canadian and US customers.

At this time, we are working on incorporating US address friendly forms into our checkout, however, this is still under construction. If you are a US customer (this includes only mainland US, Alaska and Hawaii) and you are interested in purchasing products from Tread Lightly please e-mail your name, billing and shipping address, and your order including product codes and quantities to orders@treadlightly.ca . We will reply promptly with your shipping options and totals. Once we recieve your reply with your shipping preference, we will e-mail you a PayPal invoice.

Please note the following restrictions:

All orders must be paid for before they are shipped.

All prices are quoted in Canadian Dollars.

US customers may pay by PayPal (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal Account), or Money Order/Certified Cheque (made payable to Tread Lightly) only.

Tread Lightly is not responsible for any customs related fees, taxes, or duties or any packages retained at customs for any reason. Any customs fees, duties or related taxes will come to you C.O.D.

Shipping Cost - Your exact shipping total will be based on the shipping destination, the parcel weight and size and the carrier you choose. All US parcels will be sent insured via

  • USA Expedited Parcel (least expensive - 2-4 weeks for delivery)
  • Expresspost USA (moderate cost, ship date guarantee, 1 week for delivery) or
  • Purolator International (more expensive significantly and fastest, 1 business day for delivery)

Guelph

We are willing to deliver orders free of charge to Guelph, Ontario residents who have an address where the first three digits of the postal code match one of the following: N1C; N1E; N1G; N1H; N1K; N1L.
